Holiday Stress--Expecting Other To Behave As You Want









As you probably know by now, especially if you read this blog regularly, expectations are a huge cause of much of our stress during the holidays.

These stress-causing expectations come in two forms:

  1. Social and societal expectations, including those heavily promoted by the media.
  2. Personal internal expectations, which can be different for each individual

One very common internal expectation, which not only causes stress during the holidays, but all year long as well, is expecting others to behave as we might wish or desire.
